In the age of the technologies when emails, whatsapp and voice messages are flying on the daily basis many people forgot about handwritten letters. What their use? Who writes them nowadays? Well, I do. I write “old school” letters to my friends and family and get replies back. So today I wanted to post interesting excerpts from my collection of letters, the ones that carry meaningful ideas and provoking thoughts.
On parenthood
I don’t know if there is ever a moment when your brain says “I am ready”. I think it’s one of those decision in life which belongs solely to the domain of the hearts. As to being a father, I’ve been not strain at all to imagine anyone stepping into that role as adeptly as one have stepped into all the other adventures which have made up a life.
Advice to young adults
When you are young try things you are dreaming about, risk, don’t be shy to meet people, don’t be afraid of the distances, travel, don’t put it out for tomorrow, live today and right now.
And while you are young, full of ambitions and energy take from the life all you can get. Do and create things that make you feel alive. You have one life, make it happy. Love and be loved, make good deeds, forget grievances, if asked – help. And never forget to smile.
On relationships
The relationship rules should be:
- When you are thinking about something think “us” versus “I”
- Continuously wok on yourself and your relationship
- Relationship means work and communication
- Being in a relationship is dedicating your heart, soul, mind, and body
Letter to myself from the past
Hey you, young 23 years old! Writing to you already gray haired, 60 years young yourself. I’ve heard you are feeling down today, not enough motivated to do anything. What happened to you, my dear friend? At my age I don’t even remember those sad days, all of these are such mundane trifles! Get your staff together and conquer the day!
Geopolitics
I think Russia, just like our little town doesn’t know how to live a dignified life. Something has to change for sure and it will be evident withing next 10 years. A few are thinking about the future and invest in themselves, real estate or other venues, but majority stays still and stagnant.
About simple happiness
In life don’t rush. Don’t pay attention to small things, time will polish life’s nuances. Try to find a profession that would brighten your day. This is the half of the happiness, the other is when you have good friends, those who are real with you, and, of course, that one, the chosen one.
